30A Babysitter
Currently a university biology student. She hopes to be a pediatric physical therapist. Through her university she has shadowed at Kids Always Count. And also shadowed in occupational therapy for the school system. She really enjoyed both of those opportunities. While at the school shadowing for occupational therapy, she worked with kids on handwriting, and teaching them simple skills, she worked with them so they would feel like a positive part of the class. She has also worked for a church day camp, this was a summer day camp program for kids kindergarten through sixth grade. They would go on field trips with the children. She would also do arts and crafts with the kids and take the kids to play at the park. She was always very good at helping kids overcome their separation anxiety so they could focus on having fun. For the younger kids there was a nap time or a wind down time for the older kids. She learned strategies for positive reinforcement to help the kids stay on track throughout the week. She has always had a passion for kids and loves being able to spend time with them. Babysitting on her own the past several years has been so much fun for her, and being able to meet new families and make those connections has been very rewarding. We are so happy that she has joined our team.
